Managing Thru This Past Year
Over the past year each one of us has been confronted with circumstances beyond our control; both at the home front and in the workplace. Nobody truly knows when Destiny shows up until It has knocked at our door and already invited Itself into our lives.
We cannot control circumstances. Nor can we control what people say to us or about us. We cannot control everything that comes our way, but we can control our reaction to it.
We all crave a sense of order and control. But when we are experiencing the pressures of completing the multiple tasks and challenges at hand, the thoughts in our head can go spinning and our focus may become compromised. We then become vulnerable to panic and stress.
But let us take heart.....
We can regain our focus by creating order in our surroundings. Organize your work space. Write out your tasks at the beginning of the day and review your list at the end of the day. The list may not shrink, but you will have accomplished at least one item. Make sure to take a moment for yourself each day. Schedule that moment in your calendar. Go for a walk to help clear your mind. Write your thoughts down in a personal journal.
Let us strive to edify one another in both our speech and in our deeds. And let us make restitution to those that we may have inadvertently compromised or hurt during times of stress or haste.
As a people tasked with carrying out the various duties entrusted to each one of us, it can become overwhelming at times.
So let us vow to those we serve to operate as follows:
To know that we serve a purpose greater than ourselves;
To be humble and diligent.
To be loyal to both truth and justice.
To maintain order by focusing on the task at hand.
To not seek our own welfare, but what is best for those dependent upon us.
To have empathy with those in need.
To treat others with kindness.
To always speak the truth.
To operate with public respect to all in our sphere of influence.
Let us be reminded that each one of us is an Ambassador of the One we serve. That each one of us has the opportunity to share the Message to those we come into contact.
And that is how we can transform lives. By serving a purpose greater than ourselves.
